One of Hinduism’s eighteen Major Puranas, or puranas, is the Padma Purana. It is an encyclopaedia work with extensive parts on Shiva, Shakti, and Vishnu as well as being named after the lotus on which the creator god Brahma manifested.
The Padma Purana manuscripts have persisted into the present day in a variety of variants, two of which are notable and vastly diverse and can be traced to the eastern and western parts of India,respectively one of the lengthy texts claims to have 55,000 verses, although the actual number found in the surviving copies is closer to 50,000.
