Upanisad The four Vedas are Atharva, Sama, Yajus, and Rk. These four have a Brahmana in each .The aranyakas are the Brahmanas’ appendix after that. The Upanisads then follow as annexes to the Aranyakas. The Vedic literature proper is made up of these four categories of literary works: the Vedas, the Brahmanas, the Aranyakas, and the Upanisads. The Upanisads and the Aranyakas are inextricably linked to one another. The Vedantas are the Upanisads. The majority of these Vedantas date from earlier eras than the Later Vedic Period. Only after finishing their studies of the Mantras and Brahmanas do the students start studying the Upanisads.
